Inability of healthcare providers to integrate information on HIV/AIDS-diagnosed patients create gap towards determining impact of the disease. The study surveyed influence of Health Information Management (HIM) practices on HIV/AIDS core surveillance data in Tertiary Health Institutions in North-East, Nigeria. Survey design was used. Population 5,050, sample size 382 were conveniently selected from six categories of healthcare providers from nine Tertiary Health Institutions, North-East. Data derived from Self-structured questionnaire was analyzed using mean, standard deviation and simple regression. Findings revealed low understanding of healthcare providers on HIV/AIDS core surveillance data with a mean = 2.69, SD= 0.962, while very high understanding of HIM practices was revealed with mean = 4.69, SD = 0.389. The result showed significant influence of HIM research, standards and policy practices on HIV/AIDS core surveillance data at <0.05. It recommended that management should intensify HIM education in tertiary health institutions in North-East, Nigeria.
