The climate crisis is a complex, present and ongoing threat to human survival in their environment. In greater heatwaves, lengthier rainfall could result in poor food security, flooding, drought and much more. There is an increased rate of climate change experience in African countries, and even though it cannot be stopped, it can be slowed. Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals have an educational role in providing and packaging information that creates awareness and enables individuals to cultivate the right actions to reduce the effect of climate crisis. This study would be desk research, as an extensive search of articles from databases will be retrieved to discuss the various subtitles of the topic. Therefore, the concept of climate crisis and the interplay of humans will be discussed. The study will identify the activities that LIS professionals can execute to reduce the climate crisis, determine the challenges, and make recommendations to enhance LIS professionals’ role in reducing the climate crisis.
