This study explores the role of green library innovations in addressing climate change, specifically focusing on the use of library exhibitions as an instructional platform. Green libraries, characterized by environmentally sustainable practices, have the potential to raise awareness and educate communities on climate change issues. This research adopts a qualitative design, utilizing a systematic review of existing literature to analyse the various strategies libraries employ to integrate green initiatives into their operations based on PRISMA technique. Thematic analysis was used to identify recurring themes. These include a sustainable library practice, environmental education and the effectiveness of exhibitions in promoting climate literacy. This study highlighted libraries’ key contributions to environmental education and sustainable development. The research offered insights into innovative methods for engaging the public in climate action. The findings contributed to the discourse on green libraries and their role in promoting environmental consciousness, offering practical recommendations for librarians and educators. This study demonstrated that libraries, through exhibitions and other educational platforms, can play a critical role in fostering climate awareness and encouraging sustainable behaviours in their communities.
