The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is a way of describing the blurring of boundaries between the physical, digital, and biological worlds. The emergence of the 4IR has an effect on education with particular emphasis on curriculum development. The inadequacies in curriculum and pedagogy is such that most schools in Nigeria are still using the old model curriculum to train students. While computer application and online information services have taken the place of traditional method of librarianship, many Library schools do not have computer laboratory where students are exposed to electronic formats of processing and disseminating information. The implications of responding to 4IR with respect to curriculum development for Library and Information Science is of particular interest because it could improve the competencies and skills of librarians to ensure that they deliver efficient services to patrons who have diverse and dynamic information needs in the 4IR era. 4IR affects how libraries can harness this industrial revolution for enhanced services provision. An effort has been made to highlight the various challenges being faced by Nigerian libraries and librarians in this age of information. Some solutions have been proffered to library professionals to develop curriculums that will enable them better train library professionals to deliver better library services in the 4IR.
